03:00 PM BST, 09:00 AM CDT, 10:00 AM EDT, 04:00 PM CEST
Description
As the MBSE initiatives are spread entire organization collaboration sounds swell and it's something that we all know is good to do in principle. This session will demonstrate how team members using central repository can access, review, or modify the same project at the same time. Additionally, we will show how to compare different project versions (including powerful visual compare), analyze dependencies between projects and shortly have a look to publishing and review environment, and new generation server for the collaboration ideas in the near future.
The session demonstrates
  • Typical way of working with Teamwork Server
  • Project repository
  • Access rights management
  • Reusing projects
  • Project Usage Map
  • Comparing different project versions (including visual diagrams compare)
  • Short intro to the publishing and review environment – Cameo Collaborator

Webinar 4 2015 - Model Lifecycle Management

Thursday, 25 June 2015

Sample project presented during the webinar (requires Cameo Enterprise Architecture v18.1 and Document Modeling Plugin to run)

Description

Today there is increasing recognition of the potential MBSE brings to system life cycle processes with the increasing complexity of systems and the demands of the global marketplace. In order for the practice to realize this potential, system modeling and MBSE must be part of the larger model based engineering effort, and integrate with other engineering discipline models and modeling activities across the life cycle of a system. This is placing increasing demands on the need for Model Lifecycle Management (MLM) as an essential part of an MBSE infrastructure.

The focus for this session is on our vendor experience and current best practices addressing MLM. The presentation provides a demonstration scenario to support exposing and exploring the significant challenges and issues facing MLM. We use this scenario for further analysis and as the subject to show how particular solutions and technologies address various MLM issues.

The session demonstrates
  • Requirements specification
  • Design specification
  • Federation of UPDM and SysML models
  • Model reuse
  • Features modeling and variants specification using UPDM
  • Simulation
  • Trade-off analysis
  • Model Collaboration
  • Access control (CRUD)
  • Web based model review and formal approval using new Cameo Collaborator
  • Model and templates based documentation generation
  • Multi-site support
  • Model Development
  • Baselining
  • Configuration control
  • Change management
  • Model Use
  • Traceability analysis
  • Querying
  • Impact analysis

The presentation is based on the one delivered and very warmly accepted as part of the vendors challenge at the INCOSE workshop January 2015, in Torrance (California), United States.  A description of the challenge scenario can be found here - Configurable UAV Scenario

The session is hosted by Dr. Saulius Pavalkis, Global Customer Support Manager at No Magic, Inc.

Saulius Pavalkis holds a Ph.D. from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). He also holds multiple professional certificates: OMG-Certified UML Professional, OMG-Certified Expert in BPM, ITIL V3, and OMG-Certified Systems Modeling Professional. Saulius Pavalkis has written multiple research and practical articles in model-based software design. He is the founder and chief editor of the modeling community blog (blog.nomagic.com), dedicated for sharing practical model-based engineering experience.

Webinar 3 2015 - Systems of Systems Engineering using DoDAF

Thursday, 21 May 2015
Description

Enterprise Architecture Framework is a structured tool for managing the complexity of systems of systems engineering in the organization using different abstraction levels. Abstraction levels allow the definition of strategy, operations (requirements), and alternative tactics (solutions) needed to implement operational scenarios. EAFs provide infrastructure to ensure complete and correct specification of systems (including human resources) integration using various techniques such as engineering analysis, traceability, and metrics. Some of these techniques are covered in the webinar which demonstrates complete workflow of systems of systems engineering using DoDAF. The workflow starts from (i) defining capability requirements, (ii) specifying operational scenarios, (iii) providing several possible solutions for particular operational scenario, and (iv) managing projects portfolio required to implement the selected solution.

The session demonstrates
  • Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
  • DoDAF viewpoints and models
  • Complexity management using different abstraction levels
  • Coverage analysisImpact analysis
  • Model metrics
  • Best practices from
The session is hosted by Dr.Lina Bisikirskiene, CEA Product Manager at No Magic, Inc.

Webinar 2 2015 - Automated Requirements Verification

Thursday, 23 April 2015
Description

Systems Modeling Language (SysML) is used to capture systems design as descriptive and analytical system models, which relate text requirements to the design and provide a baseline to support analysis and verification. This session will demonstrate how model of the system, expressed with sufficient precision, can be used to support early requirements validation and design verification, particularly when coupled with an execution and simulation environment.
Additionally, we will show how to use test cases and associated verification procedures as combination of inspection, analysis, demonstration, and testing to verify that the designs satisfy the system requirements.

The session demonstrates
  • Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
  • Representing text-based requirements in Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Requirements traceability, gap and coverage analysis
  • Refining and formalizing requirements
  • Selecting verification method
  • Defining testcases and analysis models
  • Performing automated requirements verification
  • Recording verification results, generating verification reports

Webinar 1 2015 - Publishing & Reviewing Models on the Web

Thursday, 26 March 2015
Description

In the traditional systems engineering, or so-called document-based systems engineering, work products are created separately and consistency between these work products is maintained manually by the designer(s) of the system. One of the biggest Model-Based Systems Engineering ROI is the ability to automatically generate consistent work products out of a systems model. This session will demonstrate various approaches to work product generation from models. A special emphasis will be put on publishing information stored in the models on the web to various stakeholders, some of which have never been exposed to MBSE, models, or modeling tools.

The session demonstrates
  • Technologies supported by Cameo Systems Modeler for work product generation
    • VTL template-based reporting
    • SysML Views & Viewpoints approach to document generation
    • Generation of work products by exporting them directly from the model
  • Publishing of models on the web
  • Reviewing published models on the web and tracking review progress
  • Integrating published models with Wikis
  • Customization of appearance and information fidelity of published models
The session is hosted by Dr. Andrius Armonas, MagicDraw Product Manager at No Magic, Inc.
