MBSE/PLE Webinar : Product Line Engineering Meets MBSE — the Best of Both Worlds

Partner-led By: BigLever Software, Inc.
Thursday, 28 January 2016
9:00AM CST
Description

Product Line Engineering (PLE) has emerged as a game-changing engineering paradigm for enabling significant gains in competitive advantage through the reduction of complexity, efficient management of variation, and automation of production across an entire product line portfolio. BigLever Software’s new generation PLE tools and methods enable a unified featured-based approach across the full lifecycle from portfolio planning, to systems and software engineering, product definition, manufacturing, sales, and service. By providing a “single source of feature truth”, PLE enables a holistic view into the feature variations for a product family — eliminating the need for different variant management mechanisms in multiple tools, facilitating better interoperability across teams, and improving cross-functional alignment between engineering and operational roles.

No Magic and BigLever have joined forces to bring MagicDraw into the PLE Ecosystem, and support the integration of featured-based PLE and MBSE with the No Magic MagicDraw/BigLever Software Gears Bridge™. This webinar will explore the engineering and business impact, and key benefits, of combining PLE’s innovative featured-based variation management capabilities with the powerful visualization, analysis, verification, and validation capabilities of MBSE.

Participants will gain insight into:

  • How integrated MBSE and PLE enables improved communication and collaboration; greater production efficiency, increased product quality, and risk reduction.
  • The ability of MagicDraw to operate seamlessly, efficiently, and effectively as part of the unified PLE lifecycle toolsets used by a growing number of systems engineering organizations.
  • How to use Gears PLE concepts and constructs as first-class systems engineering mechanisms for managing product line diversity in MagicDraw models, as a highly scalable alternative to traditional clone-and-own approaches.
The session is hosted by Charles Krueger, PhD, CEO at BigLever Software
