Description

Nowadays systems are growing in complexity, and managing them becomes exceedingly difficult. The complexity rises even further, when the system or product has many variations, for example, coffee machine may have multiple editions with different coffee brewing options. Having multiple system models of each product variation is very difficult to maintain. Therefore, a “150% model” of the system is developed to describe every possible variation. The Product Line Engineering (PLE) integration is then used to “cut” the model to a specific variant realization.

This webinar overviews the basics of Product Line Engineering, but mostly focuses on demonstrating the integration between Cameo Systems Modeler and pure::variants from pure systems.

The session demonstrates
  • Creating feature and product model in pure::variants
  • Linking the product model to the system model in Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Defining specific variation points in the system model
  • Realizing a specific variant (product) of the system model

The presentation takes about fifty minutes and the question-answer section – about ten. The audience are able to submit questions in a written form throughout the webinar.

The session is hosted by Darius Petrauskas, Solution Architect at No Magic Europe
