Managing Cameo DataHub

Managing DataHub involves starting and stopping DataHub Server, changing the DataHub Server port number, and adding DataHub Services to or removing (deleting) DataHub Services from system startup. Moreover, if you use Windows operating system, you can also start or stop DOORS Agent. DOORS Agent is a DataHub service to connect to a DOORS client from the DataHub DOORS driver.

  • Under Cameo DataHub in Start menu, click Cameo DataHub Server Console.
  • Or go to DataHub Installed Directory\bin and run ServerConsole.bat.

Configuring DataHub Server and Installing DataHub Plugin

There are four third-party tools: MagicDraw, DOORS, Cameo Requirements+, and RequisitePro. For MagicDraw, DOORS and Cameo Requirements+, use DataHub Configuration to configure DataHub Server and install DataHub Plugin. For RequisitePro, the procedure to follow is different since there is no DataHub Server configuration for Cameo DataHub for Rational RequisitePro. Thus, to install DataHub Plugin in RequisitePro, first configure DataHub Server using DataHub Configuration.

Configuring DataHub Server and Installing DataHub Plugin in MagicDraw, DOORS, and Cameo Requirements+

To configure DataHub Server and install DataHub Plugin, first validate the license and set the DataHub Server host and port, and then specify the paths of the installed third-party tools.

  1. To validate the license and set the DataHub Server host and port:
    1. Read the License Agreement and click Agree.
    2. Click Browse to select the Cameo DataHub license key. The License Key Summary dialog will open, showing the list of designated drivers.
    3. Click Continue to configure Server Setting.
    4. Select Server and All Drivers.
    5. Change Server Host to connect to a different DataHub Server.
    6. Either change the Server Port number or use the default one.
    7. Click Continue to configure the drivers.

NOTE: When selecting Server and All Drivers in Cameo DataHub Configuration, both DOORS Agent and DataHub Server will be installed automatically. However, to connect to DOORS Agent from Linux or Mac, select the DOORS Agent Only option. It will install only DOORS Agent (not DataHub Server).

NOTE: Server Host is set to localhost by default. However, you can change the host IP address to connect to a computer running DataHub Server. If you change the Server Host:

  • You must have the same Data Source location (CSV file, MagicDraw project file, etc.) as the DataHub Server Host computer.
  • DataHub Layout must be reset manually when you create or delete associations, or manage associations status.

Data Synchronization will perform only with data from the DataHub Server Host computer.

  1. To specify the paths of the installed third-party tools:
    1. Select MagicDraw Installed Dir to install DataHub Plugin in MagicDraw.
    2. Select Cameo Requirements+ Installed Dir to install DataHub Plugin in Cameo Requirements+.
    3. Select Rational DOORS Installed Dir to install DataHub Plugin in DOORS if using Windows. However, if using Linux or Mac, enter the host name and port number of DOORS Agent.
    4. Select the appropriate DOORS version to install the DataHub Plugin in DOORS. If the appropriate DOORS version is not selected, the DOORS Formal Module window will not open.
    5. Click Continue to install DataHub Plugin in the third-party tools.
    6. Click Install to install DataHub Plugin in the selected paths when Cameo DataHub Configuration Summary opens.
    7. Restart your computer after the installation is completed. DataHub Server will start automatically when the computer restarts.

NOTE:

  • The DataHub menu will not appear in the third-party tools unless the third-party tools directories that have been installed are specified in Drivers Configuration.
  • If you modify the paths of the installed third-party tools, run Drivers Configuration again to move DataHub Plugin to the modified paths.
