UAF for Industrial IoT MBSE

Thursday, 07 December 2017
03:00 PM GMT, 09:00 AM CST, 10:00 AM EST, 04:00 PM CET

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) system connects and integrates systems and software engineering with enterprise systems, business processes, and analytics. Though it sounds promising, formal techniques for defining IIoT architectures have limitations. The emerging international standard called Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) is a solution for managing IIoT decisions.

The session demonstrates
  • IIoT introduction
  • UAF structure and mapping to IIoT
  • Case study "Applying UAF to model IIoT architectures"
  • Challenges and best practices
The session is hosted by Dr. Lina Bisikirskiene, Cameo Enterprise Architecture Product Manager at No Magic, Inc.

Thursday, 05 October 2017
03:00 PM BST, 09:00 AM CDT, 10:00 AM EDT, 04:00 PM CEST

Integration between SysML and PLM is achieved by means of systems engineering formalization driven by the MBSE. This formalization enables automated interchange of data between systems engineering and other disciplines. The integration infrastructure covers the main use cases of the SysML-PLM integration and supports capabilities for specific organization needs.

During this webinar, you will learn about the new state-of-the-art Siemens Teamcenter and MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler integration, the result of the longstanding collaboration between Siemens PLM and No Magic, Inc.

The session demonstrates
  • Integration use cases:
    • Management of the SysML model file with project lifecycle data
    • Bidirectional data import, trace, and synchronization
  • Supporting capabilities
    • Out-of-the-box mapping to RFLP items of Siemens Teamcenter Systems Engineering project
    • Customizable mapping to property level
    • Active workspace integration
    • Comparison and synchronization manager

Building Advanced Expressions MBSE

Thursday, 15 June 2017
03:00 PM BST, 09:00 AM CDT, 10:00 AM EDT, 04:00 PM CEST

As Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw progresses farther and farther beyond being just a modeling tool, it begets more and more active analytical computational capabilities.

Between DSL derived properties and relationship criteria for dependency matrices, model validation and smart packages, model metrics and active legends, all these functions require specifying an expression to be computed. Hence, it becomes increasingly important to get a good grasp on expression building including more complex use cases.

This webinar is especially useful for Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw customizers - people who adapt the tool for company-specific needs and modeling methodologies.

The session demonstrates
  • Introduction to the main building blocks of structured expressions
  • Defining and calling reusable operations
  • Combining parts into an expression tree
  • Incorporating scripts into structured expressions
  • Using higher order operations: filter, map, roll-your-own
  • Recursion
  • Putting it all together

The presentation takes about fifty minutes and the question-answer section – about ten. The audience are able to submit questions in a written form throughout the webinar.

The session is hosted by Tomas Juknevicius, Senior Systems Analyst at No Magic Europe
Building Advanced Expressions

A long-time No Magic employee Tomas has an extensive and varied knowledge of various MagicDraw functionalities, UML modeling, and profile building. As a senior systems analyst, he helps to shape future MagicDraw versions, works with multiple customers (including GE Transportation, Ford, Nokia, Europcar) and is active in standards-making organizations (OMG).

Being a "father" of structured expressions functionality, Tomas is a go-to person to learn about making and putting to use complex expressions.

Tomas holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Kaunas University of Technology and is an OMG-Certified UML Professional.

Generating Reports from Model Data MBSE

Thursday, 25 May 2017
03:00 PM BST, 09:00 AM CDT, 10:00 AM EDT, 04:00 PM CEST

Reports are one of the most important artifacts produced from the model. They can represent any fragment or viewpoint of the model, for example, requirements list, architecture and/or behavior of some system component, results of trade-off analysis, etc. Both the contents and structure of the report are defined in the report template.

Cameo Systems Modeler offers a wide variety of predefined templates for generating reports of different types: textual documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. Furthermore, the tool allows to create custom templates, which is a common case as in real life organizations have specific needs for report structure, contents, layout, and format.

Knowledge of the Velocity Template Language (VTL) used within report templates is necessary for understanding, editing, or creating templates.

The session demonstrates
  • Creating templates for Microsoft® Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Creating XML templates for interchanging data between modeling tools
  • Using VTL in combination with scripts to develop advanced templates

The presentation takes about fifty minutes and the question-answer section – about ten. The audience are able to submit questions in a written form throughout the webinar.

The session is hosted by Edgaras Dulskis, Developer at No Magic Europe
Generating Reports from Model Data

Edgaras is Oracle-Certified Java SE 6 Programmer and OMG-Certified UML Professional Modeler.

He has been with No Magic Europe since late 2012. While contributing to the development of the Model-Based Systems Engineering environment, Edgaras has gained a lot of experience in systems and software engineering. He also provides professional services to Abbott, ACORD, DUO, Hospira, Ford, Nokia, Siemens, and other worldwide-known clients of No Magic, Inc.

Producing custom report templates is one of the strongest areas of Edgaras expertise. Besides professional services, he has delivered training courses and workshops on report templates development.

Edgaras holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Kaunas University of Technology.

Business Service Modelling in a Nutshell

Partner-led By: finius GmbH
Wednesday, 26 April 2017
01:00 PM BST, 02:00 PM CEST

The session demonstrates
  • Evolution des Fachservices
  • Was ist eine Architektur
  • Identifikation von Fachservices
  • Modellierung mit SobaML®
